Bilingual preschool
Cosmo Global Kids

From an early age our program encompasses care and global education,
supporting the students to develop with a wider prospective and better outlook on the world.
As the students grow and develop in mind and body we teach them to improve both.

Our program helps create 'Real Global Kids' through having the students focus on the roots of education
and develop an interest in the world around them and abroad.

Educational Concept

Global does not mean just 'Language (English)' but rather know about many cultures and real expreinces to help broaden and enlighten the student's perspective.

  • Bilingual education
  • Multi-cultural studies
  • Active learning

Our educational program creates and nurtures a wide varity of values.
Allowing our students to develop an indispensable set of skills in order to live a happy and prosperous life in their future in our global society, and that includes early English language education as well as global cultural education to help them better interact with others. Japanese educational style alone is missing some aspects but our program take the great parts of Japanese education, developing autonomy and independence as well as group coordination and social cooperation, and adds in Western cultural ideas of active learning and individual creative thought.

Through our three core systems of "Bilingual education", "Multi-cultural studies" and "Active learning", we cultivate the students to expand their possibilities of their future by drawing out their natural abilities and individual personality, and then further expand their possibilities for "diversity, and tolerance of diversity", while nurturing them to become "international citizens" in a true sense.

Bilingual education

We conduct English immersion education at an early age as well as linked with Japanese intellectual training program.

Multi-cultural studies

Every month we learn about various countries and their culture, customs, events and foods. We learn about diversity and create understanding for the wide world we live in.

Active learning

Through interactive activities, rather than traditional Japanese passive type learning, we respect children's ideas, expressions and actions. And all the while helping them to increase their independence, individuality, creativity and expressiveness without limiting their growth and possibilities for the future.

[2 year old class] Talk time
- using google maps we showed what a typical 'house' in America and in Japan is
- we play games with the flashcards like find the same picture on the wall
- we even visited a real church in order to experience what it is like

During Talk time while learning about vocabulary 'house' the students were able to see with the help of Google Earth's satellite perspective what a typical 'house' is like in America and compare it to a common house in Japan. Allowing for a deeper understanding of the concept of a "house" but also creating opportunities to learn about different cultures at the same time.

We try to allow students to no just learn about vocabulary, for example with 'house', through a flashcard but rather we promote a deeper understanding of the concept of "house" itself. We help the students to create a recogniztion for the vocabulary allowing them to see a 'house' when looking at other houses, and know it is "house", more than just the flashcard alone. We promote learning not only from flashcards but also to enjoy "learning" by strengthening understanding of the concept of words by looking for a picture of different "houses" and in order to not get stuck in the classroom we like to engage in moving actively instead of lecture to help them to establish a stronger memory.

When studying about Spain and their 'churches', in our multi-cultural studies program, we use pictures, drawings, and even went on a field trip to visit a really Catholic church to help students to understand the concept and experience more about Spanish culture.

[2 year old class] Job Training
- we used various colors of flowers and amounts of money
- split into two groups: customers and shop clerks; where students would order a color and number of flowers and then pay for them

Previously in Talk time students had learned colors and numbers (counting) so in this month's theme of Job training, florist, they were able to use their new knowledge.

During the lesson, students were split into two groups where students, as customers, would order a color and number of flowers and then pay for them from shop clerks. They learned about money and how exchange of money is used to get items.

By using this Role-play setting, students learned to use 'numbers' and 'colors' as well as common expressions like 'please' and 'here you are' with questions like 'what color?' and 'how many?'. This activity helped them develop their abilities to interact in English more naturally and widen their phrases and expressions.

Care Concepts

The early years for a child are especailly important for developing a sense of safety, mental health, and physical growth. These are aspects we cherrish at Cosmo Global Kids (CGK).

  • Symbiosis of the mind
  • Heart and caring
  • Challenger's mindset

'Preschool' does not just equal 'English education' but rather we place 'child care', meaning a sense of safety, mental health, and physical growth are aspects we value highly.

We have bilingual Japanese licenced staff who are familiar with 'the growth stages of children' and work with our native English teachers to make sure the children's 'minds grow and develop as well as their langauge' which is all part of our schools philosophy.

We help children freely develop and support their progress all the way while doing our best to meet their needs with face to face interaction on their level.

Symbiosis of the mind

We value the relationship of every child and help to foster a heart of symbiosis with in our school community.
We are vigilant of small changes in the children, help children grow, and gently nurture their development.

Heart and caring

We will nurture a rich sense of life from various experiences and new discoveries.
Life in our school helps develop, relationships with friends, cultivates team cooperativeness and social interaction as well as cultivates a heart of compassion.

Challenger's mindset

We foster a heart that encourages the unlimited possibilities of children, advances curiosity, and dares to try new things.
With this, they will develop into strong leader for the future.

Welcome to CGK!
For educational breakthroughs

In our world of globalization, when people are told the word "global", for Japanese people, it is sometimes brings up ideas of "language (English)", but for us it is about education. At Cosmo Global Kids (CGK) is not just a framework of "language" or "education" that we teacher but rather we will conduct a more comprehensive "global education".

Within 10 to 20 years it is said that about half of the current work will be AIized (automated by machines), and even in the future global society, if you only acquire the specific skill of "language (English)" it is considered insufficient.

At CGK, the students acquire a wide range of "multi-cultural learning and experiences", and we know that knowing about our diverse world (places different from common sense in Japan), at the same time nurture motivation / intellectual inquiry will help them to learn to challenge by "active learning".

We aim to nurture the global skills necessary for life-long growth and development for not only during their stay at CGK but also for their future in our global world.
