International Preschool with
Care and Global Education
Cosmo Global Kids (CGK) is an international preschool that expands children's physical and mental
growth and unlimited potential through "childcare" and "global education" from early childhood.
We offer a variety of programs during our long hours of operation, which is unusual for an international preschool,
while providing the attentive care like a nursery school.
Through high quality "global education", we aim to stimulate curiosity and interest in the new world from here in Yokohama,
and nurture "real global kids" who can think for themselves and become leaders.
Childcare + Global Education
Fulfilling Childcare and Educational Programs
CGK offers full-time care, 5 days a week, from 8:30am-5:00pm. (Extended care is also available 7:30am-7:00pm)
There are no short-term courses or courses for select days.
In this way, an immersive English education can be conducted using a fulfilling curriculum
that incrementally builds students' skills and confidence and maintains them.
This is our specialty, offering an education that is considered, creative and high in quality.
Pygmalion Class that Develops Acute Cognitive Ability

Produce a Lot to One of the Nation's Smartest Middle Schools - Nada Junior High School
CGK has introduced the Pygmalion method that has been making a great achievement in Kansai area for the first time in Japan as international preschool.
Fostering "Acute Cognitive Ability" and "Problem-Solving Skills"
As a result of advent of IT and AI, education only with acquiring knowledge and skill does not have a meaning. The Pygmalion offers not "cramming style" which is passive education but stimulates "hand ability", "spatial ability", "shape ability", "mathematical and logical ability" and "language ability" to enhance "acute cognitive ability".
Premier Intellectual Training for Children in their Precious Early Years
To develop a high ability, the days of early childhood are the best when almost all parts of brain is made. Whereas if it is not developed in these days by correct details and correct method, "low ability" such as simply memorize information and skills will unfortunately be stunted from the beginning.

Self-Expression, Acute Cognitive Ability, and Spirit of Inquiry Required for Real Global Kids
During the three years at CGK, students spend more than 4,500 hours in English (FYI, it's about 1,000 hours in total in Japanese elementary, junior high, and high schools), and we provide high-quality early English education, but we do not only focus on learning English.
We are the first international preschool in Japan to introduce the Pygmalion Class as a special program to nurture children's acute cognitive ability to think for themselves. We also nurture children's spirit of inquiry through authentic experiences and unique lesson programs, and foster their desire to know and learn for themselves.
In addition to fostering independence, initiative, imagination, creativity and acute cognitive ability, understanding and tolerance of diverse values (diversity), which are difficult to develop in a Japanese education, we provide moral education, and cooperativeness and social skills that can be fostered in a Japanese education. Those are all part of "global education".
Through our three core systems of "Bilingual Education", "Multicultural Studies" and "Active Learning", we cultivate the students to expand their possibilities of their future by drawing out their natural abilities and individual personality, while nurturing them to become cosmopolitans in a true sense, and support a happy, prosperous and diverse future.

Bilingual education

We conduct English immersion education at an early age. The education model is bilingual and aims to increase thinking abilities in concert with Japanese intellectual training program. Generally speaking, the Japanese requires 2,000 to 4,000 hours of learning time to master English, but this program goes over 4,500 hours (3 years).

Multicultural studies

Students will enjoy learning about diverse countries through culture, customs, events, food, etc. Diversity education is provided as a gateway to a wide and diverse world, not just the common sense of a small world, and combined with the effects of moral education, it fosters tolerance for diversity and compassion.

Active learning

Through interactive activities, rather than traditional Japanese passive type learning, we respect children's ideas, expressions and actions. And all the while helping them to increase their independence, individuality, creativity and expressiveness without limiting their growth and possibilities for the future.

Global education and childcare that supports sound growth in body and mind.
"Preschool" does not just mean 'English education' but also childcare, a sense of safety, mental health, and physical growth. These are aspects we value highly.
We have bilingual Japanese licensed staff who are familiar with the growth stages of children and work with our native English teachers to make sure the children's minds grow and develop as well as their language which is all part of our school's philosophy.
We help children freely develop and support their progress while doing our best to meet their needs, with face to face interaction, at their level.

Symbiosis of the mind

We value the relationship of every child and help to foster a heart of symbiosis with in our school community.
We are aware of small changes in the children, help children grow, and gently nurture their development.

Heart and caring

We will nurture a rich sense of life from various experiences and new discoveries.
Life in our school helps develop, relationships with friends, cultivates team cooperativeness and social interaction as well as cultivates a heart of compassion.

Challenger's mindset

We foster a heart that encourages the unlimited possibilities of children, advances curiosity, and dares to try new things.
With this, they will develop into strong leaders for the future.

Welcome to CGK!
For Educational Breakthroughs
In this rapidly changing world of globalization, I believe that education is becoming even more important.
In our world of globalization, when people are told the word "global", for Japanese people, it sometimes brings up ideas of "language (English)", but for us, it is about education.
At Cosmo Global Kids (CGK), it is not just a language education but rather we will conduct a more comprehensive "global education".
Generosity towards diversity and compassion for differences, creativity and the ability to take action in the face of change, the ability to express oneself, communicate with others, and work together. I believe that these are important not only in the business world, but also in order to lead a happy and prosperous life.
Within 10 to 20 years it is said that about half of the current work will be AIized (automated by machines), and even in the future global society, if you only acquire the specific skill of "language (English)" it is considered insufficient.
At CGK, the students acquire a wide range of "multicultural studies", knowing about our diverse world (places which have different ideas from Japan), at the same time, to nurture a spirit of inquiry will help them to learn and challenge by "active learning".
We aim to nurture the global skills necessary for life-long growth and development for not only during their stay at CGK, but also for their future in our global world.
We believe that education has the power to bring about peace and happiness, and at CGK, we strive to not limit children's potential, but to challenge them to do things they want, and to be a gateway to a world that is bigger than just the school.
